| Peter Fendi (1796-1842) is almost totally unknown to the general public because almost all of his work is privately owned. The love scenes, of which there are 40, were originally executed for a wealthy patron of Fendi's. The colored lithographs were posthumously published in Leipzig in 1910 in an edition of 600.
